Baptisms

We are always glad to receive enquiries about the baptism of children and, after a few simple preliminaries, agree a date with you. Baptisms normally take place as part of our Sunday Worship on the third Sunday in each month, excluding Advent (December) and Lent. However, other times can be arranged with the clergy when need arises..

The first requirement is that the child actually lives in the Parish or that the child's parents are regular worshippers in one of our churches. If either of these apply, you can contact the clergy and they will come and see you. If you are not already a regular churchgoer, you will be asked to come along to one of our churches a couple of times so that you can become familiar with the service and meet some of the congregation. Then we will arrange a date and after another visit or two (we like to get to know you) the day will come round in no time. Of course, there are rules about god-parents but all this and more will be explained in the visits.

If you do not live in the parish, you will need to join the congregation for six months before we can take matters further. It may be simpler for you to approach the clergy of the parish where you live as they will be pleased to administer the sacrament in your own parish church. If in doubt contact us by email or telephone.
